Tom Thorpe (born 13 January 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Rotherham United.
Tom is a centre back who’s come through the Academy system at Manchester United.
Although naturally a centre back, he’s able to play as a holding midfielder.
He captained the side to 2010/11 FA Youth Cup success and is captain of the Under-21 side.
Was ever-present for the under-21s in the first half of the 2013–14 season
Played 72 games and scored 7 for Man Utd U21s.
Birmingham City (loan) – 6 games/0 goals
Joined Birmingham City on a six month loan at the end of January 2014.
Made his professional debut against Derby County, but was stretchered off after only 14 minutes after injuring an ankle.
Unfortunately the loan spell was cut short by injury on two occasions with him rejoining Manchester United for treatment both times.

Tom was included on the bench for the first team away to MK Dons in the 2014/15 League Cup 2nd Round defeat but was unused.
Made his long awaited first team debut coming on as a substitute in the 94th minute for Angel di Maria on 27th September against West Ham.
Thorpe was released by Manchester United at the end of his contract in July 2015.
Rotherham United – 7 games/2 goals
Joined Rotherham following his release from United in 2015.
Made his Rotherham debut in August 2015 in a 4–1 home defeat to Milton Keynes Dons.
Tom has represented England at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 levels. He was appointed captain of the England Under-19 squad for his group.
Won the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in 2010.
Named as England under-19 captain in 2012 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
Was included in England under-20 squad for 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
