Saidy Janko (born 22 October 1995) is an Swiss professional footballer who plays as a right back for St. Etienne.
Saidy joined Manchester United in the summer of 2013 from FC Zurich. Having joined Manchester Unied as a right back, Janko has spent much of his debut season on the right wing for the U-21 team. His physical presence and speed have seen comparisons made with Antonio Valencia.
Saidy made his first team debut away to MK Dons in the 2nd Round of the 2014/15 League Cup, he was substituted at half time.
On 2 February 2015, transfer deadline day, Janko joined Championship club Bolton Wanderers on loan for the rest of the season, with Andy Kellett going in the opposite direction for the same period. He made his debut for the club on 10 February, starting in a 3–1 league win over Fulham at the Macron Stadium. He crossed to assist Eiður Guðjohnsen’s equaliser before half time, before scoring himself in the 80th minute from 25 yards out.
On 1 July 2015, Celtic announced that they had signed Janko on a four-year contract.
Made his debut in August as a substitute against Ross County.
Joined Barnsley on a one-year loan deal in August 2016.
Scored a goal and an assist on his debut in September 2016, he was only on the pitch 8 minutes.
Signed a four-year contract with St.Etienne in July 2017 on a free transfer.
Saidy has represented Switzerland at Under-18 and Under-19 level. He is also eligible for The Gambia and Italy.
