Matabaro Bienvenue Interview
Matabaro Bienvenue is a versatile forward who plays for Feyenoord in Holland.
He talks to us about his style of play, his footballing heroes and his plans for the future.
What position do you play ?
I play on 7 as right winger , 9 as centre Forward ,10 as an attacking midfielder and 11 as a left winger, I can use both feet so whenever you throw me, I land there and become the boss.
What your style of play?
I’m a quick, technical player that likes to use a trick or two beat a man. I’m also a goal getter who keeps hes eye on the goal, I always work hard on my strengths and weaknesses to improve as a player.
I do also like to combine with other players and create chances because it brings a sense of good teamwork.
What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
I think my strengths are I play with both feet and I can score with both feet. My dribbling is fantastic, I’ve got quick feet and quit good at manipulating the ball. I’m strong and fast. Heading is also my strength.
Who are your Football heroes?
I have a lot of players I look up to such as Ronaldihno, Messi, Kaka, Zinedine Zidane, Romario but if I had to pick then I would say Adriano he had the teachnic of Ronaldihno and Messi, the shooting power of Roberto Carlos, the precise shots and the speed of Ronaldo and Robihno.
He was the robustness of a tank with the elegance of a Ferrari!! He’s powerful long shots obliterating the goalkeepers.
Best advice received? (From who)
The best advice I’ve had is from my coach Mark Otten (trainer Feyenoord Under-15) is just never give up and never look at others success, do what you think is successfully and your never regret in the future.
Best player you’ve played against?
I’ve played against a lot of good players but the best probably would have to be a player called Naci Unuvar.
I played against him last year in the competition, we got beat like 2-1 I scored once for my them but he ran the game, and he scores twice and was the man of the match.
Best player you’ve played with?
That would be Denzel Owusu, the best defender I have come up against.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
In 5 years time I see myself playing professional Football at a good level, where I hope to be playing at the highest level, playing with best players, In england, Spain or here in Netherlands or elsewhere I don’t know and hopefully in the international Dutch team.
