Mile Svilar (born 27 August 1999) is a Belgium footballer who plays as a keeper for Benfica.
Started his career with Beerschot before moving to Anderlecht.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Ajax and Schalke where all interested in signing him.
Sign a professional contract with Anderlecht on his 16th birthday at the end of August.
Made his Under-19’s debut away to Galatasaray in September 2014, just three weeks after his 15th birthday.
In August 2017 it was reported that he wanted to leave Anderlecht as he believed he should be in the first team.
Won the 2017 Belgium Super Cup as an unused substitute.
Moved to Benfica in August 2017 for £2.5 million, signing a five-year deal.
Kept a clean sheet on his debut for Benfica in October 2017 in a 1-0 victory over Olhanense.
Became the youngest goalkeeper in Champions League history a few days later when he started against Manchester United at 18 years, 52 days.
Eligible to play for Belgium or Serbia.
Has represented Belgium at every level from Under-15’s to Under-19’s.
Son of Royal Antwerp keeper Ratko Svilar.
