Giovanni Simeone (born 5 July 1995) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a striker for Fiorentina.
Joined River Plate’s youth team in 2008 when his father was appointed coach of the first team.
Signed a three-year professional deal with the club in November 2011.
Promoted to the First Team in July 2013.
Made his league debut in August 2013, starting and playing the full 90 minutes in a 0–1 away loss against Gimnasia La Plata.
Signed a new contract with the club until 2016.
Scored his first professional goal in September 2013 against Tigre.
Joined Genoa in August 2016 for a fee of £2.5m.
Scored his first goal, on his first start against Pescara in September 2016.
Joined Fiorentina in August 2017, signing a five-year deal.
Simeone was part of the Argentina Under-18 squad but due to his good performances also he was called up to join the U-20 with just 17.
In March 2014 he was called up to the full national team as a sparring training.
Finished as top scorer at the 2015 South American Youth Football Championship.
Won the South American Youth Football Championship in 2015.
Son of former Argentinan International Diego Simeone.
