USA Under-15 Forward Lateef Omidiji Jnr. Linked to Real Madrid

22nd October 2017 in News

Real Madrid are scouting United States youth international wonderkid Lateef Omidiji Jnr. and are ready to make a move once he is able to move.

Reports suggest that the Spanish giants were in England last week to watch the Feyenoord forward to see how he matched up against players from England.

Omidiji Jnr. was the standout star for Feyenoord, catching the eye of coaches from the oppositions side as well as the watching Real Madrid scout, saying:

”We have been watching Lateef for the past two years and continue to watch him-we already knew that he had technical abilities, great insight/clear understanding of the game and the right mentality to be a professional in Spain,”

”We also know that he has the physical qualities to compete in our league because of how fast he is and it’s not a knock on Dutch football but speed and strength is not their forte so we wanted to see him match up  against players his age (most were actually older than him) and to see him be faster and stronger was a sight to see.

”We see Xavi at Barcelona and Karameko at Celtic and those are what the media consider the top two and place Lateef  in the top five, that could be further from the truth because Lateef  is far superior with regards to speed and power and is at the same level with them with regards to technique but his mentality is also far superior to the other two.”

The Las Vegas born forward is eligible to play for the United States and Nigeria at international level and Nigeria have been working hard to ensure he selects the Super Eagles but Omidiji Jnr could be the star US soccer needs to take them to the next level.

Non-League Database

Project: Non-League Database

22nd October 2017 in Site

Football-Wonderkids are about to begin a new project of building a Non-League Database of all players outside the top four divisions.

Our Non-League Database will manly focus on players Under-21 with the aim of helping them get scouted and help build their profile with the aim of helping them get scouted.

However, we want all non-league players and clubs at all levels to get evolved and create a complete non-league database of players at all levels and all age groups.

Why do build a Non-League Database

A season ticket holder at Manchester United for 17 years I started losing the buzz of going to games so gave it up at the end of last season.

As a massive football fan I still wanted to watch live games so I started watching my local side Ramsbottom, this lead to watching more non-league football and I was surprised at how good some of the players are, with many being able to play at a much higher level.

I would see players and make a note of them but could find little or no information on them at all.

This is a problem that a lot of non-league football fans have……. So Football-Wonderkids are going to build a full database of non-league players.

Working with fans and professionals I hope to give exposure to non-league players so they can build their profile, help them get scouted and give non-league clubs a place they can come to scout players for free.

With clubs like Brentford and Huddersfield closing their academies, player will be dropping down to non-league clubs and Football-Wonderkids want to help them showcase their talents.

Who are Football-Wonderkids

I am not a football scout or agent and I want to keep this site 100% free to help players at all levels get scouted.

I do have good connections with lots of non-league fans and companies like Soccer Smart who offer scholarships in the US and A1 Football Advisory a FA Registered Intermediary that Represent & Refer talented Non League footballers to professional clubs.

How Can Players be added to the Database

The best way is to register as a player on Football-Wonderkids, as a player your profile becomes your online football cv where you can add all your stats and videos. This can then be shared online or exported and emailed to clubs and academies.

All our scout and coach members can also view your profile and connect with you.

Once you have created and completed your profile, I will have all the information needed to add you to the database.

The more people we have registered and talking about players and clubs the better our database can be.

United to Replace Shaw with Spanish Wonderkid

United to Replace Shaw with Spanish Wonderkid

17th October 2017 in News

Manchester United are reported to be monitoring Espanyol and Spain Under-21 left-back Aaron Martin as they look for what seems to be a replacement for Luke Shaw.

United scouts watched Martin play for his current club Espanyol in the Friday night La Liga match against Levante and are report to have asked to be kept in the loop of any developments regarding his future.

The 20-year-old signed a new long-term contract with Espanyol in January, keeping him at the club until 2022.

Manchester City are also believed to have sent scouts to watch Martin with £52 million summer signing Benjamin Mendy being out for the season.

Espanyol will not want to let their star player go cheap and will look to get his full €40 million buyout clause before letting him leave.

It looks like Shaw’s days after fans took to social media to criticise his attitude in a recent Under-23’s match.

Timothy Weah Scored Hat-Trick For United States

Timothy Weah Scored Hat-Trick For United States

16th October 2017 in News

Timothy Weah scored a hat-trick for USA Under-17 side against Paraguay to help his side progress to the last eight.

Timothy Weah was the star of the show as 5-0 win over Paraguay saw the United States storm into the quarter finals of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India.

Son of former footballer-turned politician Geroge Weah, Tim Weah was happy to score his first goals in the tournament with a hat-trick.

After the game, Weah said – “I did not really change anything. I just listened to what the coach said. He gave me a specific set of instructions and I followed that. I continue to work hard for the team and whether the coach starts me in the match or brings me off the bench, I continue doing so”.

The 17-year-old forward plays for one of his fathers old clubs Paris Saint-Germain and it looks like he might find it difficult to break in to the first team anytime soon with the likes of Neymar, Cavani and Kylian Mbappe leading the line for the French side.

Mason Greenwood Scores Hat-Trick For Man Utd Under-18's

Mason Greenwood Scores Hat-Trick For Man Utd Under-18’s

15th October 2017 in News

Manchester United seem to have found the next wonderkid in their youth team after 16-year-old Mason Greenwood scored a hat-trick for their Under-18’s yesterday.

Greenwood has long been touted as a future star for the Red Devil’s and yesterday he added to his reputation by scoring a hat-trick in a 6-1 win over Wolves Under-18’s.

At just 16 years & 13 days it was only his second started at that level but the youngest seems to have it all flair with an eye for goal, quick and comfortable with the ball at both feet.

The young attacking midfielder will now hope to follow in the footsteps of Angel Gomes and make his first team debut, although that could be a few seasons away just yet.

West Ham Ready to Sell Reece Oxford

14th October 2017 in News

West Ham are ready to considering the sale of wonderkid defender Reece Oxford with Manchester United and Arsenal interested in taking the youngster.

The Mirror are reporting that West Ham manager Slaven Bilic took an ill-advised public attack at the 18-year-old defender.

Bilic told Oxford not to start thinking he as good as France superstar forward Kylian Mbappe after both players were nominated for this years Golden Boy award.

18-year-old Oxford is on a season-long loan at German club Borussia Monchengladbach but Bilic’s remarks could leave him wondering about his future at West Ham.

It is believed that both Manchester United and Arsenal tried to sign Oxford before he signed his first professional deal last season and would still be interested.

13th October 2017 in News

Liverpool’s Dutch winger Bobby Adekanye is determined to make it at Anfield but knows he has to work hard to achieve his dream.

The 18 year-old forward is now in his second season with Liverpool Under-18’s after time with PSV, Barcelona and Ajax.

“Hopefully, my dream comes true, and that’s the first team in Liverpool,” said Adekanye to Voetbal International.

On working with manager Jürgen Klopp, Adekanye said: “He said some good things to me: Klopp said I should not be too nervous and just show myself.

“He said that I had to enjoy it and that’s right because, if I enjoy it, I get the best out of my game. Klopp is a good trainer and gives the youth players who want to work for him the chance. I am willing to work hard and we will see where the ship goes.”

English Teams Look at Barcelona Wonderkid Abel Ruiz

English Teams Look at Barcelona Wonderkid Abel Ruiz

12th October 2017 in News

English Premier League side Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are all reported to be watching Barcelona wonderkid Abel Ruiz at the Under-17 World Cup.

Speculation has increased because Barcelona have not tied Abel Ruiz down to a new contract before allowing him to travel to India for the Under-17 World Cup with Spain.

The young forward is regarded among Spain’s best young players and is now attracting major interest from Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

AS are reporting that Ruiz’s current deal has a €3 million buyout clause, leaving Barcelona vulnerable to losing the forward if he shines in India like he did in the Under-17 European Championships.

Ruiz was the top scorer at the Under-17 Euros and has already made his debut for Gerard Lopez’s Barcelona B squad, scoring his first professional goal against Granada last month.
