Top 3 Most Valuable Under-17's Wonderkids

Top 3 Most Valuable Under-17’s Wonderkids

August 16, 2017 in Special

It’s the start of a brand new football season, and with it comes a new batch of top young talents on their way to becoming world-class stars. Nowadays, we can see these wonderkids coming from a mile away, regardless of what country they’re playing in.

With the help of the transfer values calculated by Transfermarkt, here are the top three most valuable wonderkids under the age of 17 as we start the 2017/18 season of football in Europe

3. Moise Kean, Striker, £1.35 million

Source: Sportnieuws, via Twitter

There have already been mumblings of Moise Kean being the next Mario Balotelli – without the bad attitude – as he continues to surpass expectations at each level. Currently playing for Juventus’ under-19s, Kean has also featured for the first-team in Serie A. The then 16-year-year old was brought on as a substitute in three games, accumulating 18 minutes and the game winning goal against Bologna – to make the score 2-1.

As much as he represents so many things that are wrong with the modern game, Mino Raiola has already signed Moise Kean to his agency, which shows how much raw potential the Italian striker has. However, this also brings about a problem for Juventus. To keep this rising star, and his agent, at the club, they’ll likely need to give him first-team opportunities at some point this season, but given the power that AC Milan have suddenly amassed, Juventus will need to be on their top game every night.

At 4/6 in the football betting to win Serie A, Juventus are still favourites, but AC Milan could usurp them with their new and extremely talented squad. Moise Kean will find chances hard to come by this season, but Juventus need to fit him in at some point. Otherwise, they could have yet another top young talent leave the club early – as was the case with Paul Pogba and Kingsley Coman most recently.

Already standing at six-foot and boasting a very strong frame, Kean’s impressive work-ethic, pace, powerful shooting, and heading ability is sure to continue to improve as he becomes a mighty presence on the front line. Kean made all of his Italy under-15, under-16, and under-17 debuts in 2015 and has already amassed eight goals and two assists of the Italian under-17s in just 17 games.

2. Ryan Sessegnon, Left-Back, £2.70 million

Source: Squawka News, via Twitter

For a lot of last season, Ryan Sessegnon was in the headlines as a transfer target of many top Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, and Manchester United. But, simply emphasising how down-to-earth the left-back is, he decided to sign a new deal with Fulham, in the Championship, to continue getting regular playing time. Only 17-years-old, it appears as though Sessegnon’s choice was well made as he started in Fulham’s 1-1 season opener against Norwich City.

While primarily featuring at left-back, Sessegnon continues to show off his incredible ball skills, passing ability, and eye for goal. In the 2016/17 campaign, the Englishman scored four goals and four assists while playing at left-back as well as three goals and an assist from left-midfield. His cool-headed but flair-filled play expands to the international scene as well. Already playing for England’s under-19s, mainly at left-midfield, Sessegnon has four goals in just 12 games, which includes starting and winning in the European U19 Championship final.

1. Alexander Isak, Striker, £5.40 million

Source: First 11, via Twitter

Having become Sweden’s youngest ever scorer at 17 years and 113 days with his goal against Slovakia, Alexander Isak was tipped for a big move away from his native Allsvenskan ( the top tier of Swedish football). As they often have with wonderkids, Borussia Dortmund won the race to sign Isak, and have already got him in their first-team.

With 13 goals and an assist under his belt from his AIK Solna days in the Allsvenskan, Alexander Isak signed for the German giants for £7.74 million – which will soon look to be a bargain – in January 2017, and has been deemed good enough to be a part of the first-team this season.

Staying on the bench for the wildly close DFL-Supercup final but coming on in the first round of the DFB-Pokal, you can bet that Isak will continue to push for more games this season. Isak’s skill on the ball, cold finishing ability, and rapid acceleration have made him a potent striker, and as he develops his game, he’ll undoubtedly become a big name in football.

Another exciting season of football is finally here, and it looks like these top young talents will be given a chance to shine.
