Federico Valverde Promoted to Real Madrid’s First Team

Federico Valverde will start pre-season on July 13th with Real Madrid’s first team instead of Real Madrid Castilla following a number of impressive performances at the Under-20 World Cup.

Spanish newspaper Marca are reporting that the youngsters Under-20 World Cup displays were enough to convince Real Madrid his talent and he will now report back to trining with the first team.

Uruguay reached the semi-finals of the Under-20 World Cup in South Korea, which saw Real Madrid youngster Federico Valverde with the Silver Ball as the second best player.

Signed by Madrid for 5 million euros in May 2015 and arrived 12 months later, Valverde converted from an attacking midfielder to a defensive anchor man.
