Wales national coach Chris Coleman believes Chelsea wonderkid Ethan Ampadu has the potential to make it at Chelsea and has compared him to David Luiz.
Ampadu made his Chelsea first team debut in Wednesday’s 5-1 Carabao Cup win over Nottingham Forest.
The defender only turned 17 last week and became the youngest Chelsea debutant since Michael Woods in 2007.
Now Wales manager Chris Coleman has said he has a similar to another Chelsea defender, Brazilian David Luiz.
Coleman said: “Yes, he’s very similar to David Luiz. Look at young Ampadu’s style of play, he’s a stylish centre-back or holding midfielder.
“He’s very good on the ball, excellent in possession but he’s a good defender as well.
“For someone so young he reads the game really well and that’s what is really attractive for a club like Chelsea.”
He added: “Ethan was always going to end up at one of the big clubs. It’ll be up to him whether he is going to come through at Chelsea.
“Looking at him now, he’s showing all the signs of being a top-level defender.”
