Angel Gomes (born 31 August 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Manchester United.
Man Utd Under-23 manager Nicky Butt has described Gomes as a special talent.
Youth Career
Joined Manchester United from the age seven and was playing for Manchester United’s U15’s side aged 13.
Voted the 2015 Manchester Premier Cup Most Valuable Player despite the fact United finished 12th and he only scored one goal.
In the 2014/15 season as an Under-15 schoolboy was an unused substitute for the Under-18 side on numerous occasions and finally made his debut as a substitute in the last game of the season.
Scored his first goal for the Under-18’s away to Derby County in November 2015 and later became the youngest player to score a hat-trick for Manchester United at Academy level in almost 15 years when he came on as sub in a 5-1 win against Newcastle U18’s in August 2016.

His the youngest son of Gil Gomes, a former Portuguese Under-20 World Cup winner,
Older brother Rico Gomes was also on United’s books up until under 16 level before being released and retiring from football having failed to find a new club .
Angel is the Cousin of former Manchester United Portugal winger Nani.
International
He was called up for England Under-15’s training camp earlier this season although he was born in Portugal.
Captained the England Under-16 side in 2016.
Pulled out of England’s Under-17 squad for the 2017 Under-17 European Championship after he picked up an injury in training before the Dallas Cup.
He’s also eligible to play international football for Portugal and Angola.
