How to Get a Trial with Blackburn Rovers Academy

Blackburn are always looking for their next academy star who can work their way through the youth system and become a first team star.

Category one clubs like Blackburn are not restricted to the 90 minute travel restrictions for players 12-years-old and above, this is because the FA feel that the best prospects should have a chance to play at the best academies regardless of where they are born.

Blackburn also have a number of host families to help house academy players from all over the world so they can live in a safe family environment.

They have a large scouting network with scouts watching games and tournaments all over the country, this is main way they recruit youth players.

You can also apply for a trial by sending a football CV along with a cover letter and fixtures of your current club in case and they will asses your CV and decide if they want to send a scout to see you play.

Blackburn ask that you do not send video’s or contact them on social media and only send via post marked for The Academy Recruitment.

Don’t be surprised if you don’t get a replay, they get far too many emails to respond to every letter but if they are interested they will contact you or send a scout to watch you.

Summer schools are another way to get yourself in front of academy scouts and coaches.
